You reluctantly cut funding from Grusa’s budget so you can fulfill all your development commitments to Myca.

Your staff who run the aid programs and their local NGO partners are relieved, but the Grusan ambassador to the United States formally protests. You assure her that the cuts are temporary. She is skeptical and tells you the United States has just damaged its relationship with an important military and democratic ally.

But for now, the budget issue is resolved and you direct USAID to begin sending aid to Myca. You call the head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to inform him of your decision, and he tells you it was the right one. Congress is focused on meeting America’s needs and would not have given you extra money for Myca.

On behalf of all Mycans, I thank the U.S. secretary of state for helping our country through this terrible time. We will not forget America’s generosity.

— Myca’s president

Myca is one of America’s most important graphite trading partners. We should give it all the aid we possibly can.

— U.S. Graphite Importers Association

Now we see America’s real priorities. Grusa has no graphite, so America doesn’t care about Grusa.
