You tell Myca’s president that the United States will provide water pumps to clear the graphite mine.

The president thanks you. She says that it will be good to have the mine cleared so that replacement workers can start right away when she “gets rid of the strikers”.

This is not the answer you expected. You urge her to reconsider. Such a move would violate international labor standards and could trigger U.S. sanctions or other measures. The president says that the United States only cares about graphite. In a few months, the substitute workers will perform just as well as the old miners did. That afternoon, the strikers participate in a pro-democracy rally.

The president responds by arresting mine owners and strikers. Now you have some difficult decisions to make.
