Objects provide insights that go beyond what is written or spoken.

This activity uses objects from the National Museum of American Diplomacy’s collection to teach students the concepts of diplomacy and delve deeper into the diplomatic stories surrounding the evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Saigon.

During the object gallery walk, students will draw parallels between objects from NMAD’s collection and the tools and skills of diplomacy. They will consider how these objects add to the study of history. By engaging with tangible objects, students will develop a deeper understanding of diplomacy’s role in international relations.
